Jason should see the writing on the wall of how his family, and he, are being viewed. Why don’t they ask themselves why everyone left suddenly? This was before the AI tour was over. His slide, sadly enough, is mainly due to no one ever taking any PR problems seriously. Not a single one. Betsy said she was advised by the rah rah fans to ignore all of the negative things said about the family and Jason. Boy, those were 2 smart moves!: taking advice from these huge kiss a$$es and THEN clearly never using common sense to realize the mistake of such advice…even as the signs showed fans SUDDENLY dropping off like flies.
The dropping off has happened in 5 waves…in my opinion.
1. When ddb was divided into only happy happy threads on the first page, and any actual discussion was sent to (what is popularly referred to as) the basement thusly dividing up the fandom artificially into the RAH RAHs and the thinking fans.
2. When the gifting issues first caused PR problems and nothing was done to address them. When they moved all serious discussion to “the basement” many left right there and then. Without fellow fans to talk with, People leave. The fans left in disgust on this one, I believe.
2. DDB telling fans, essentially that they could not discuss the gift topic with any critical thinking –no discussion allowed…only happy happy gifting people allowed to talk.
(thoughtful, intelligent people begin to get disgusted with everything jason.)
3. Rah Rah fans Increasingly attacking those with any critical thinking skills at all!
(any thinking fans left were run off feeling that there was no place for them in jason’s fandom…since rah rahs were protected but not them. )
4. Jason being off AI now, and therefore becoming responsible for what goes on in his kingdom (family, his site, friends etc.).
Sad, because it did not have to be this way. But stubborn people frequently destroy the very things that they claim to love. It takes very little negative publicity for a musical star wannabe to have his career destroyed.
I’m glad I didn’t join that board. I heard from a friend that if a person mentioned Mandy at all, you were attacked. Gosh! Why were they so harsh?
